University College Lillebælt (Denmark)
University College Lillebaelt offers higher education programmes that contribute to the continual development of the welfare society. We train social educators, teachers, nurses, radiographers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, biomedical laboratory scientists, public administrators and social workers.
University College Lillebaelt is one of seven university colleges in Denmark. Geographically, University College Lillebaelt covers a part of the Southern Region of Denmark and has approximately 7,000 students and 700 employees. In addition, University College Lillebaelt offers Continuing Professional Development, from one-day seminars tailored to specific organisations and professionals to Diplomas at the BA-level. The Bachelor of Education Programme is offered at campuses in Jelling and Odense, and a prospective exchange student has several options. Our outstanding teaching staff is academically trained adult educators, and their primary goal is to maximize the student’s learning experience. Their role is to be valuable partners and coaches as the student develops a personal study plan and chooses specializations.
Our main goal is continually to improve the programme, and we are constantly developing the everyday curriculum and teaching methods, as well as our long term strategy. We have close links to researchers at the University of Southern Denmark and with municipalities and schools in our area.
We believe strongly in giving students, lecturers and staff the opportunity to gain international and intercultural experience through periods of study abroad, practice placements and international visits. To strengthen these opportunities, the department has set up partnerships with many educational institutions all over Europe and beyond.
