University of Oradea is a university located in Oradea, Romania. It is considered among mid-level universities in Romania, being ranked first in a study of dynamic development of universities. The University has 15 faculties, 2003 employees, of whom 1237 are teachers, and 35,000 students.

University of Oradea mission is to promote knowledge, research and training partnerships between teachers, students and community.

In the past 22 years, the University has responded to the changes that occurred in National educational policy, demographic change, the requirements of market economy, local and regional needs and new technologies.

All these changes have led to new expectations from students, academic and administrative staff. University of Oradea offers students the necessary training to contribute to society. This training is conducted in 15 faculties offering a wide range of initial training and postgraduate courses.

Results achieved in several programs involving international collaboration – in mobility Socrates, PHARE, Leonardo da Vinci, etc. – are really impressive and are among the best achievements of the university.

University of Oradea is a creative, energetic, active and innovative university. Teachers, professors and researchers are very enthusiastic and determined to experience all the new opportunities offered by information and technology ways. In addition, modern multimedia tools are available in most classrooms in the new building.

In the University of Oradea operates a Department for Training of Teachers (DPPPD) to ensure the pedagogic preparation of the students and to improve teacher’s academic degrees in a wide range of specialties.

To create more open and flexible educational structures, designed according to the needs of adaptation to labor market conditions, the University of Oradea continue developing form of distance education, in regard to which the Department of distance education and educational low frequency. It was founded at the university, a Lifelong Learning Department (DEP) whose fundamental objective is to develop skills and deepen knowledge acquired in a form of initial training (bachelor, master and doctorate). Training activities in the sphere of vocational training include: conversion / retraining, training courses, postgraduate specialization courses, postgraduate courses and workshops.

All 15 faculties, with all 108 majors for undergraduate education are accredited or licensed.  Along with professional performance and ethical behavior, scientific research becomes a priority criterion for assessing academic staff in higher education. Besides the university operates 29 research centers of the three accredited CNCSIS institutionalized.

We all have to admit that there is no financial or real estate investment more profitable than the student. Education itself will always be the best long-term investment, because no good is more precious than knowledge acquired during university studies.
